Leading the Way

Cactus Wren Hall is home to a 75,000 SF veterinary classroom and laboratory. The 3-story structure includes teaching laboratories, classrooms, and utility support spaces on the first level, lecture halls and laboratories on the second level, and offices and laboratories on the third level. The design also included a 2,700 SF mechanical penthouse on the roof for boilers, water heaters, air compressors, and vacuum equipment.

The laboratory portion of the building includes seven research laboratories, one biomedical laboratory, one animal anatomy teaching laboratory, and one multi-purpose teaching laboratory. These spaces are accompanied with associated dialogue centers, procedure rooms, microscopy/equipment rooms, and fume hood alcoves to provide students with access to all of the tools necessary for a high-level learning environment.
