BANNER GATEWAY OBSERVATION UNIT

This observation unit provides longer stay patients with a place to receive care without exhausting the ED bed supply. The adjacent administration building was identified to house the new observation unit but the desired building had no medical gas utilities or emergency power available to easily change the use to a patient care area.

LSW worked with the team to successfully remodel the space and provide new necessary infrastructure for the medical gas utilities and emergency power. The new observation unit contains 23 beds, two nurse stations, and various support spaces required to assist patients and staff.
