Job Description

We are seeking a Technology Systems Designer to join our Phoenix, AZ office. You will serve as a critical design team member in technology service leadership, coordination and development of the special systems discipline for construction design projects. This position requires interaction with the firm’s project team members (designers and engineers from mechanical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines), architects, consultants, clients, and contractors. You will identify project requirements, develop engineering concepts, and present options and recommendations in order to meet the project needs. You will have the ability to demonstrate a trustworthy presence through your professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge.


Responsibilities

A successful technology systems designer should be able to apply strong technical design skills and knowledge to produce accurate and timely deliverables.

You will support project requirements with the basis of:
  • Design narratives
  • Opinion of probable cost estimates
  • Drawing documentation
  • System design

  • You will also be responsible for technical specifications for the following:
  • Telecommunication structure
  • OSP cabling
  • Wireless access
  • Telephony systems
  • Access control
  • Intrusion detection
  • Surveillance (CCTV)
  • CATV cabling
  • Public address
  • Audio/visual systems


  • Other responsibilities include:
  • Provide a leadership role to share your knowledge with other design staff.
  • Effectively delegate work to production support staff.
  • Review projects for compliance with city, state and national building codes, compliance with ownerstandards and industry construction
        standards (BiCSi, EIA/TIA,etc.).
  • Meet with and interact with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate with manufacturers and contractors to stay abreast of the latest trends and technology.
  • Construction overview to insure the client is provided with the highest quality installations that meet the construction document criterias
        and Owner’s requirements.


  • Requirements

  • Excellent skills with 5+ years experience designing Information Technology Systems
  • Knowledge of recent versions of Revit and AutoCAD
  • General knowledge with NEC, NFPA, EIA/TIA, and BiCSi standards
  • Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • General working knowledge of basic network electronics design


  • Other Preferred Qualifications

  • BiCSi Affiliated RCDD certification
  • Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D)
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, B.S. in Architectural Engineering, or other engineering discipline with applicable experience
