Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical and Plumbing Designer to join our Phoenix, AZ office. You will serve as a critical design team member in mechanical/plumbing systems development and coordination for construction design projects. This position requires interaction with the firm’s project team members, architects, consultants, clients, and contractors to identify project requirements, develop engineering concepts, present options and recommendations in order to meet the project needs. You will have the ability to demonstrate a trustworthy presence through your professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge.


Responsibilities

A person in this position is responsible for applying strong technical design skills and knowledge to produce accurate and timely project deliverables.

They will support project requirements with:
  • Client interface
  • Field investigation
  • Basis of design narratives
  • Develop knowledge of the mechanical or electrical systems modeled
  • Develop complete mechanical/plumbing construction design documents including editing of standard technical specifications
  • Comply with all applicable codes and statues
  • Review submittals
  • Support the project through construction completion


  • Other responsibilities include:
  • Provide a leadership role to share your knowledge with other design staff
  • Provide design information and effectively delegate work to production support staff as applicable
  • Design projects for compliance with city, state, and national building codes, compliance with owner standards, and industry construction standards
  • Meet with and interact with clients and project stakeholders
  • Communicate with manufacturers and contractors to stay abreast of the latest trends and mechanical/plumbing systems technology


  • Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent skills with 7+ years experience designing mechanical/plumbing systems.
  • Working knowledge of recent versions of Revit and AutoCAD. You must be capable of design information input in each program.
  • Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
