MARICOPA COUNTY WEST COURTS GRAND JURY

A new grand jury space was needed at Maricopa County’s current West Courts Building. The challenge was to transform an unfinished basement into a functional facility that offered soundproofed rooms and modern comforts.

The HVAC system was a major challenge due to the extremely large existing dual duct heating mains that feed across the space and then up to serve the building. The project was further complicated by the need for no sound transmission between the rooms. LSW coordinated with the architect to achieve varied ceiling heights in interesting and pleasing configurations to meet the open feel while overcoming the HVAC and sound challenges.
